3-D Hong Kong

The plastic Nishika visit to Hong Kong. It was hot, it was crowded but it is always worth a visit. We managed to stay in Mong Kok this time and it was nice and close to the markets. Like usual these were all taken with Fuji Superia 200.

This guy was pretty cool. He was setting up his ultralight tripod with a film camera in front of all the different soccer players to take a portrait of himself. I wonder what kinda film he uses. He kinda looks like a Kodak gold kinda guy.

For this particular photo I left the frames in. I just wanted a different look. I feel it kinda works even though it is a bit hectic. As you can see the frama a Nishika creates is not as narrow as the photos you see on this page. Cropping is at fault here.

3-D in Osaka

When I visted Osaka during the summer I took along my Nishika and some Fuji film. There was enough sun (maybe too much because it was very hot). I threw on the flash and took photos of the famous local festival, the Tenjin Matsuri. I’ve been playing around trying to embed the gifs on gfycat but was unable to do so. So for now these are still fullsize gifs, so be patient when they are loading.

For more Nishika shots, please check out posts one, two and three.

Got my thumb in of the frames, covering one of the 4 lenses of the camera.

I liked the hats these guys were wearing.

This performer was very much into it and smiling all the way in the heat.

These guys were dancing to some traditional music and drumming. The songs were at least ten minutes each and they would make these expressive movements with their hands and fingers.

Indoor Nishika with Flash

The return of the Nishika and this time with flash.

If you are looking for which type of camera took these images then click here and if you want a tutorial on how to put these GIFs together then click here.

Taken with the usual suspect of the Nishika and some Hema color film. There are some strong magenta tints in the images but I left them like that. Don’t ask my why because I don’t know the answer.

Original Nishika Post

Nishika small

I got this camera a few years ago, put 2 rolls through it and they came back blank. Nothing, nada. I threw it in the bag of my closet and forgot about it. Now with this blog, I decided to have one last look at it and give it a final spin. I took it to a pinhole camera gathering in the Singapore Zoo. I filled it up and my expectations were nice and low. After picking up the scanned images I was impressed. I had to put the gifs together in Photoshop which resulted in pretty nice images. Now I am thinking of all the possibilities this camera has.
